If you ask any Malaysian about what is there favorite noodles? They will always answer “Yee Mee Goreng”. Today, I am going to share a delicious yee mee recipe. Yee mee noodles or yee mee goreng is a famous noodles dish in Malaysia.
I really like the taste of yee mee which is chewy when chewed. I used to like to eat yee mee when I went to So Good Cafe but since they moved from Kuala Lumpur outlet, I haven’t eaten yee mee for a long time.
Yee mee noodles can be eaten in time in the day whether it is in breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner. Find out what can be cooked in the fridge. Everything is not there. There is only a packet of yee mee. I use 3 pieces of yee mee. That is what is available only for eggs, bok choi vegetables, and cabbage only.
In fact, in my kitchen, if there are eggs and anchovies, everything can be delicious. The main ingredient in cooking for me is anchovies. The main ingredient to save cooking is eggs. So with the eggs, it was enough for me to cook fried yee noodles.
Can I fry yee mee noodles?
If you fry yee mee, it will be tastier if you add soy sauce and the color will look more appetizing.

Yee Mee Recipe
- 3 pieces yee mee
- 4 onions
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 1 tablespoon ground dried chillies
- Fish ball
- Vegetable bok choi
- 2 eggs
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- ¼ cup of cooking oil
- 1 tablespoon thick soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
Step 1: Heat the oil and saute the sliced onions until it becomes fragrant. Add the ground chilli and saute until crisp.
Step 2: Add the shrimp and fish ball.
Step 3: Add the bok choi vegetables. And stir evenly.
Step 4: Slow down the heat and add the oyster sauce, tomato sauce and soy sauce.
Step 5: Set aside the other ingredients and pour in the eggs. Stir the eggs until the eggs are half hardened.
Step 6: Add the yee mee noodles and stir it well. Also increase the fire a little bit.
Step 7: Add a little amount of salt and cabbage. Stir it well. That’s all, now the delicious fried yee mee noodles are ready to serve.
Yee Mee Fried Mushrooms Recipe
- 1 packet of dry yee mee (blend until smooth)
- 2 pieces of chicken breast (thin slices)
- 3 eggs
- 8 dried shintake mushrooms seeds (soak & slice)
- 2 packets of enoki mushrooms
- 1 small packet of oyster mushroom
- 12 cherry tomatoes
- 1 carrot
- 1 green mustard tie (slice)
- 1 red chili stalk (slice)
- 1/2 oyster sauce
- 1 cup sweet soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 5 garlic cloves (slice)
- 1 inch ginger (slice)
- Oil for sauteing
- Salt & black pepper (right amount)
- Water (right amount)
Step 1: Saute galic with a little oil until golden yellow.
Step 2: Add the chicken & red chili. Saute until the chicken is half cooked.
Step 3: Pour the oyster sauce & sweet soy sauce. Stir it until well combined & then add a little water.
Step 4: Pour all the mushrooms & ginger. Let it simmer for a moment.
Step 5: Now mix the yee mee noddles & gravy until well blended.
Step 6: Add the carrots, mustard, sesame oil and simmer until the noodles are cooked.
Step 7: Season with salt & black pepper to taste. Break the eggs into it & turn off the heat. Make sure the noodles are still gravy and are not dry.
Step 8: Sprinkle with fried onions before serving.
